  Tower Garden ® gives you more control over your health by making it easy to grow fresh, nutritious produce.  If you’ve always wanted to grow your own fruits, herbs, vegetables and flowers, but haven’t, things are looking up.

• The Tower Garden vertical aeroponic growing system is a healthier, easier, smarter way to grow your own fresh and nutritious fruits, vegetables and herbs.

  LED Grow Lights: If you are interested in Grow Lights, the ones sold now are the newer LED lights, which are much nicer and use even less electricity than the older fluorescent tube style, seen in many of our promotional photos. You will find the Grow Lights kit in the section called accessories. We actually grow our Tower exclusively indoors with grow lights, as it allows us to grow year-round, free of insects and heat waves.

•  If you plan to get the LED Grow Lights, which you’ll need to grow indoors, they are $250, and totally worth the investment, especially now that they have much more attractive & less intrusive LED lights. If you want monthly payments, it’s important to order the lights (and any other accessories) at the same time as the Tower Garden, so that they are also eligible for monthly payments.

• We use our Tower Garden with the plant support cage (like a tomato cage) around the outside. While that is no longer required to hold the new style lights, like it was to hold the old fluorescent lights, it is still very helpful to support your plants as they get large. Definitely get this if you plan to grow plants like tomatoes, squash, peppers, etc. outside in the summer, as it will prevent your branches from breaking off from the weight of the produce. •  You may wish to add the Extension Kit, which adds two more growing sections to the TowerGarden, increasing your growing capacity from 20 plants to 28. While the LED light kit is “officially” sized for the standard 5 section Tower Garden,  we know others who are using the 7 section Tower Garden with the lights, and they say the light output is adequate to reach all the plants. The extension kit is $70.  FYI, we don’t use the extensions & we never run out of produce (we are a household of two ), but if you  have a larger household, or if you want to be able to share produce with others, you may wish to add the extension kit.

• Your Tower Garden kit will include the reservoir tank which holds the water & nutrients, the tower, watering pump, and watering timer. It will also include a seedling starter kit, including the rockwool cubes in which you germinate & grow your seedlings, both while germinating & once transferred into the tower in the “net pots.” (also included) These net pots with your seedlings are inserted into the tower at an angle. The water & liquid nutrients are pumped from the base tank (holds 20 gallons of water) up to the top, and then the water “rains” down the inside of the tower, watering all your plants’ roots, which are contained in the non-degrading rockwool cubes, inside each net pot inside the tower. The starter kit also includes vermiculite planting medium to germinate your seeds in the rockwool cubes, a mini greenhouse germination tray to start the seeds, and a starter set of veggie seeds. Also included are “starter size” bottles of the two different liquid mineral nutrients that you use, and a pH test kit. The starter size mineral nutrient bottles will last you a good while.

• You may also want to consider going ahead and ordering the larger bottles of the plant nutrients; there are two types of liquid nutrients which are mineral based, and you use them both together.

•  Eventually you’ll want to order more pH testing materials, but we suggest waiting to see what your water needs are. Our water is on the acidic side (low pH), so we only end up ordering more of the “BASE pH” kit, to raise our pH. You will have plenty in your starter kit materials to get you by until you see what you likely need the most of.

  • Mondays, April 16, 2018 through May 21, 2018, from 6:30 – 7:30 PM, at our home in Louisville, Colorado. This class is sponsored by Boulder Valley Lifelong Learning Program
  • Learn a cleaner, simpler, more efficient way you can grow fresh, healthy, nutrient-dense food with Tower Garden ® aeroponic vertical gardens!
  • These space and water saving systems use water, liquid nutrients, and a soilless growing medium, to quickly and efficiently grow more colorful, tastier, and incredibly nutritious produce.
  • Tower Garden ®  only requires a 2-1/2 to 3-square-foot space, making gardening possible for anyone, either outdoors, or indoors with optional LED grow lights. Perfect for individuals, families, community gardens, businesses, and schools.
  • Students in this class will share in a complete growing cycle in a shared Tower Garden, and will each “own” at least two of the plants in the class’s shared Tower. You may harvest your plants throughout the course, or take your plants home with you at the course’s end.
  • No Tower Garden purchase is required to enroll in the class; however, we are happy to help you order your own Tower Garden, if the class helps you discover you wish to buy your own Tower Garden.
