GrowStrong with Line Dancing!

GrowStrong with Line Dancing is one of our favorite divisions of GrowStrong, LLC! Line Dancing is a great way to improve your physical and mental fitness while having fun, matching our company’s mission of helping others grow strong physically, emotionally, psychologically, and spiritually! We teach line dancing for Boulder Valley Lifelong Learning at Manhattan School of the Arts. Classes have included Beginner, Beyond Beginner, Partner Pattern, and Line Dancing For Everyone. Sign up soon for our Winter 2020 class: Line Dancing for Adventurous Beginners & Beyond.  The class meets Mondays, 1/27/20 – 3/16/20, from 6:30 – 7:45 PM. Winter signups will open soon, so stay tuned and we hope you’ll join us on the dance floor!

Instructor Biographies:  Paul Teixeira, inspired by family and students, developed a passion for line dancing back in the early 1990s while living in Houston, Texas. Paul was especially influenced by his uncle, a line dancer known as “Pistol Pete” who brought joy to countless lives through his line dance instruction. Paul, following in Pete’s footsteps, has taught classes in Texas, New York, Connecticut, and Colorado. 

Janine Fugere is living proof that it’s possible, even for people who think they can’t dance, to enjoy and become skilled at line dancing. Janine never thought she’d be able to learn to dance, thinking she didn’t have the memory and coordination needed, but Paul changed all that. He taught Janine to line dance starting in 2015 and now line dancing improves her memory and coordination. Janine now confidently enjoys instructing along with Paul in Colorado, helping others learn to line dance.

Janine and Paul have also recently started choreographing line dances. Janine just enthusiastically  choreographed her first line dance called, Baby Just Say Yes, to Taylor Swift’s Love Story. Janine was so excited to see her first ever dance at the top of the list of recently added line dance stepsheets on Copper Knob, UK. View and download the stepsheet at this link: Baby Just Say Yes. Janine’s tutorial video and a demo video with our students learning the dance will follow this week, so check back! Janine and Paul both look forward to choreographing more dances together soon, including both individual line dances and partner dances.
